October 13, 2003 Pioneers Come Up Short in 2003 Pentiction Over 50 Tournament For the first time in many years of travelling to the Okanagan, the Pioneers failed to qualify for either the Final or Consolation Final in last weekend's 25th Annual Penticton Masters Soccer Tournament. Hampered by blustery conditions, and with only three acknowledged defenders on the tournament roster, this will be remembered as one the Pioneers let slip away. Despite this, the Pioneers generally outplayed their opposition, but a heartbreaking tie with Penticton and a loss to Cliff Avenue made Sunday's game against Aldergrove academic.
